Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays everyone! Mom’s on vacation the whole week and isn’t going anywhere so we’ve got mom home with us all week. That’s the best Catmus present we could hope for.

Mom’s friend Chris was over last night. They made liver and onions for dinner. I don’t know how they can eat that stuff. You couldn’t pay me to eat that. Anyway, we had a small miracle while Chris was here – EK came out of hiding and joined the rest of us. He even let Chris pet him! He doesn’t let hardly anyone but mom touch him. I guess miracles do happen!

We got a little bit of snow and it’s furry cold. We have the fireplace going. I love the fireplace. I curl up right in front of it and soak up all that lovely heat. Mom’s a little stingy with the heat so the house is usually chilly. I take every advantage when the fireplace is running.

That’s if for us. I hope everyone has a pawsome holiday.

Product Review – Stella and Chewy Nommies

#Sponsored #ChewyInfluencer

Hi pals. Mom decided to set up the laptop she almost never uses anymore so I can blog instead of just posting this to Facebook.

I love being a #ChewyInfluencer. We get some pawsome free stuff to review almost every month. This month, Chewy.com sent us two flavors of Stella & Chewy’s Freeze-Dried Cat Food to taste. We got Tummy Ticklin’ Turkey and Absolutely Rabbit freeze dried dinner cat food. We’ve had Duck Duck Goose flavor before, but not the other flavors. We know what’s in it is good for us.

From the Chewy site, here’s a list of the ingredients in the turkey flavor: “Turkey with Ground Bone, Turkey Liver, Turkey Gizzard, Pumpkin Seed, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Phosphate Monobasic, Choline Chloride, Taurine, Dried Pediococcus acidilactici Fermentation Product, Dried Lactobacillus acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Bifidobacterium longum Fermentation Product, Tocopherols (Preservative), Calcium Carbonate, Zinc Proteinate, Zinc Sulfate, Iron Sulfate, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Copper Sulfate, Copper Proteinate, Riboflavin, Manganese Sulfate, Sodium Selenite, Manganese Proteinate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Calcium Iodate, Vitamin B12 Supplement”

It comes is so many flavors you’re sure to find one you like. Aside from the flavors already mentioned, there’s Chick Chick Chicken Dinner, Yummy Lickin’ Salmon & Chicken Dinner, and Sea-licious Salmon & Cod.

You’re supposed to add water to the morsels and serve it for a meal. Well, we don’t like it wet. But we love it dry as treats. So mom knew we liked Stella and Chewy freeze dried dinner in general, but not what flavors. We were furry excited when mom put down the turkey and rabbit flavors for us to eat. Look!
Notice who’s missing? As usual, EK doesn’t like what we’re eating. He’s the fussiest eater in the world. We don’t care. That leaves more for us! Whether you eat it as a meal or as treats, this is one you really need to try. We can’t get at it fast enough when mom puts it out.

So that’s our latest Chewy review. We get this stuff for free to review, but we don’t get paid or anything. And you know no one tells us what to say.

See you next time!

Book Review: The Congregation

Hi pals. I know I haven’t blogged in forever, but I think I’ll start posting the book reviews that I put in GoodReads. If you follow me on Facebook, you know this hasn’t been the best year so mom really hasn’t had the time or energy to help me blog, but at least this will help keep my blog active. One of these days, things will get better and I’ll have fun stuff to blog again. I miss my adventures, and so do the stuffies.

Anyway, back to the book. Here’s a description of ‘The Congregation’ from GoodReads:

“A bustling mining town in 1970s England awaits the arrival of their new vicar. People are not sure what to expect as the rather aloof Reverend Matthews descends upon his unfamiliar parish, but nevertheless he is welcomed with open arms and gathered into the flock.

However, on discovering a journal left by his predecessor, the clergyman soon begins to wonder what secrets lie behind the seemingly innocent lives of his congregation. The unexpected arrival of the Bishop causes the vicar to question his own past and a cloud descends upon his religious beliefs, causing chaos to both himself and the townsfolk residing just a stone’s throw away.

Written in an upbeat style, with dark humour and quirky characters, this novel is best savoured by the fire with a pot of tea.”

The book definitely lives up to that description. Here’s my review:

The CongregationThe Congregation by A.J. Griffiths-Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would have given the book 5 stars, but it ended rather abruptly and unsatisfactorily. I loved it right up until the last few pages.

If you like the tv series, Midsomer Murders, you’ll like this book. It’s not a murder mystery, but it has the same kind of quirky characters that Midsomer had in the early seasons. The characters are multi-dimensional and well developed. You find yourself caring about the characters and how their lives go.

That’s it for now. Happy reading!
