Big Big News

Oh my pals, I don’t believe it. I had about three other things that I was going to choose from for posting today, but they’re all gonna have to wait. The most amazing thing happened last night.

My boyfriend cat, Henry Thomas Stockman (@quadpawd) had a furry special date planned for us last night. His typist is working Valentine’s Day, so we planned last night for our big Valentine’s date.

First, he picked me up in a limousine. Look at it!Limo
It had a moon roof! We sipped champagne and looked at the stars while we drove.champagne
He took me to this beautiful restaurant. I don’t know how he got a reservation at this place. It’s always booked months in advance.Restaurant
He had everything all arranged, even our dinners. They were as nommy as they were gorgeous.

Henry must have tipped the person in charge of the music, cuz the next thing I know, one of my favorite Sam Cooke songs was playing over the music system.

So I’m sitting there, enjoying my dinner and the music and hoping Henry would ask me to dance, when all of a sudden he’s down on one knee! on one kneeI couldn’t believe what was happening. Right there in the middle of the restaurant, Henry asked me to marry him! OMC! I was so shocked I could barely answer him. When I finally got my wits back, I said YES!

That’s right, my furriends. This little ladycat is engaged! I can’t believe how lucky I am. Henry is the sweetest, most romantic, most wonderful mancat any ladycat would wish for, and he picked me!

We danced the night away. It was the purrfect evening. In fact, it would have been purrfect even if he hadn’t asked me to marry him, but he did! OMC! So much to think about now and so much to plan, it’s making my little furry head spin. I’m so excited I can barely stand it!

So that’s my big news for this week. All of you in the big snow, take care and be safe. Have a great week everyone!

Checkup Time

Happy Sunday everyone! I guess Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow today, so spring’s supposed to come soon. Maybe in Pennsylvania, but we had plenty sunshine here and I saw my shadow, so I think we still got some winter coming. After all, I live in Colorado and we can get snow clear through May!

Well my furriends, my day started out pawsome, but it was all a trick. First mom got out the wand toys and we played for a loooong time. Then she turned on our new Undercover Mousie. While I was playing with mousie, she scooped me up and stuffed me in a PTU! Can you imagine? Turns out she was just trying to distract us to get me and EK to the v-e-t. The joke was her though. While she put me in a PTU, EK hid. MOL! She made another appointment for him next week.

I go to Dr. Jerrell Guster at Animal Family Veterinary Hospital. I’m usually pretty good at the v-e-t, but today I hissed at the tech, Erin. I don’t know why, because Erin’s really very nice. I hissed at her even before the alien butt probe came out! Anyway, my visit went well and the v-e-t says I’m purrfect! I know we all hate going to the v-e-t, but it’s good to know I’m nice and healthy. V-e-t visits are furry impawtant no matter how much we don’t wanna go.

Mom took pics, of course. Moms – who can figure them out. Here’s the pics!

And here’s me at my very first v-e-t visit. Look how tiny I was!

Pumpkin's first vet visitDr. Guster has this picture hanging in his office. Erin said they need a new picture of me all grown up. I gotta pick one out and have mom print it up for them.

Look at this poster HH made of all the kitties she painted for her 30 paintings in 30 days project! You can see me right in the middle.Maxthequiltcat posterIf you don’t know @MaxtheQuiltCat and his mom HH, you should check out his blog. It’s a goodie! You’ll get to meet HH’s current kitties, Bugsy and Knuckles, too (Max is OTRB, but he still blogs).

Today’s the Superbowl. I guess that means Mom’s gonna be glued to the tv tonight. I better learn to like football cuz Mom sure watches a lot of it.

That’s it for today. Have a great week everyone!

A Visit from Pip and Puddles

bucket2Happy Sunday everyone! I have a very special post for you today. My pal, Pip, isn’t doing so great and it probably won’t be terribly long before he goes OTRB. Pip’s made a bucket list of things he wants to do and places he wants to see in the time he has left. I was hoping he’d want to see Colorado so I invited him to come for a visit. He said yes!

So Pip packed up his little red car, and his friend/nurse/driver Puddles, and headed for Colorado! I don’t know about them, but I had a great time showing them the sights. The first stop was downtown Denver. We went for a carriage ride, visited the Botanic Gardens, and visited the Kong factory. Pip was furry excited to see where Kong toys were made. (You can biggify the pictures by clicking on them.)

On the way back from downtown, we stopped at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge to see the bison.RMANWRThen we went back to my house. I showed Pip and Puddles to the guest tent. It had nice comfy pillows for them to sleep on and I loaded it up with toys for them to play with. Look!Guest tentPip and Puddles slept really well in that tent, and the next morning were raring to go! We had so many places to see that instead of taking the car, we borrowed the Lake with Petie transporter. Otherwise we’d have needed a whole week to go everywhere!

We headed for the mountains. We started out in Estes Park where I took them to the Stanley Hotel. For those who don’t know about the Stanley Hotel, it’s the hotel Stephen King stayed at that inspired the book The Shining. From there we went into Rocky Mountain National Park and over Trail Ridge Road. We came down the other side of the mountain into Idaho Springs. There’s all kinds of great shops and restaurants there. But what Idaho Springs is really famous for are the Indian Hot Springs and Tommyknocker Brewery. Then we went up to the top of Mt. Evans. The road up to Mt. Evans is the highest paved road in North America! It’s 14,240 feet at the summit.

That was a lot of places for one day, but there was still more to see! So we got up furry early the next morning, jumped in the car, and headed south to Colorado Springs. First stop was the Air Force Academy. We posed on a jet and saw the Chapel. From there, it was on to the Garden of the Gods. It’s a gorgeous landscape of red rock formations, desert plants, and an amazing expanse of sky. If you go there you’ll understand how it got its name. I guess we kind of went from one chapel to another. The last stop on our tour was the Olympic training center. Pip wanted to ride the bobsled, but there was no snow.

I’m thrilled Pip and Puddles were able to stay long enough to see so many things. I just wish they could have stayed longer, because I had so many other places I wanted to take them. But I guess that would have been selfish. After all, I know there’s lots of other pals that want a visit from Pip and Puddles. So I guess I was lucky there were able to stay as long as they did.

I hope you enjoyed the tour as much as we did. Have a great week everyone!
