Happy Sunday everyone. I told you I’d have something really special for you today and I do. Mom had an amazing adventure this summer. She got to go to Switzerland! All the stuffies fought over who would get to go with her. In the end, Kiwi won. He’s easy to pack, stands up nicely, and he’s never been on a trip with mom before. And since he originally came to us from d’Artagnan Rumblepurr in New Zealand, he’s quite the international traveler already. So I’m gonna let Kiwi take it from here.
Hi pals. Kiwi here! I can’t believe I was the lucky one who got to go to Switzerland with mom to visit Auntie Kirsten. We were mostly in Zurich, but we rode trains, trams, buses, and boats all over the country. It was so beautiful there.
The picture above was taken from the roof of the apartment building Auntie Kirsten was staying in. You could see so much of the city from there and when the weather was clear, you could see the Alps. We were very lucky with the weather. It rained lots in the days before we got there and again after we left. But we only had 1 day of rain when we were there. It didn’t stop us though! We still went out walking around Zurich.
Mom took hundreds of pictures. She helped me use Shutterfly to make a book of the pictures and posted the pictures and the book on the Shutterfly site. And no, Shutterfly didn’t ask us to do a review and didn’t give us anything for this. Mom’s used Shutterfly for years. Anyway, here’s the link to the Shutterfly site: https://cherylsadventures8.shutterfly.com/. Some of mom’s past travels with other stuffies are posted there too. You can see just the pictures, or the book with my comments in it. You’ll have to forgive my typos – typing with a beak isn’t very accurate.
The one thing we really wanted to see but didn’t was the Matterhorn. We rode the Glacier Express all the way to Zermatt, but when we got there it was cloudy and raining. Sigh. Otherwise, the trip was perfect. Mom got to see everything else on her must see list, and we had lots of nommy eats. I do have to say that the restaurants there are very expensive. We wound up packing lunch every day to save some money. The hotels there are also very expensive so we were glad Auntie Kirsten let us stay with her. Now I’m gonna turn this back over to Pumpkin.
Thanks Kiwi. I’m so jealous that the stuffies get the best adventures. I know I get to go some places with mom, but they get to go to the really exciting places. *pout* Anyway, that’s all for today. Have a great week everyone!
Happy Sunday everyone. Still raining here, but not all day. We’re starting to get more sunshines finally. Phew!
Today I’m gonna turn the blog over to Oliver Baboon. He went on a grand adventure to Alaska and he’s just bursting to tell you all about it. Take it away Oliver!
Hi everyone. Oliver here. As you all know, Mom and I went on a long vacation in Alaska with mom’s aunt. We had the most amazing time. We started out in Fairbanks, went to Denali National Park, then to Mt McKinley lodge. Then we went to Talkeetna where we took a train all the way down to Whittier to get on the Grand Princess.
We spent 7 nights on the ship. We went to Yakutat Bay and Hubbard Glacier. We spent a whole day in Glacier Bay National Park. We also stopped at three ports – Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan. Mom took tours in Skagway and Juneau. We had one more day at sea before we docked in Vancouver. We saw so much and took so many pictures that it took three Shutterfly books to document it all. Book three has my trip diary in the middle. Mom made a Shutterfly share site so you can see the books and the pictures. There are also some videos. I also posted the videos directly to youtube.
I couldn’t leave you with no pictures here at all, he he he. Here’s just a sampling of what we saw.
I hope you check out the Shutterfly share site. There really is a lot to see! We had the most amazing time. Now back to Pumpkin.
Pumpkin here. Thanks Oliver. I’m so jealous that you got to go on that pawsome trip and I had to stay home with the kitty sitter. I wonder if I’ll ever get to go anyplace that cool. Anyway, that’s it for today. Have a great week everybody!
Happy Sunday everyone! I got something really fun to share with you today – we had a visit from @tinypearlcat’s mom, Rochelle.
The fun started before she even got to the house. Mom picked Rochelle up from the airport and they went straight to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge so they could see the bison. And boy, did they see bison! The bison practically came right up to the car. It was a little scary.
Can you see all the babies in there? (Click on the pictures to biggify.) Mom loves seeing the bison. Sometimes they go to the side of the park nearest the road she takes to work and she can see them as she drives. Look how close to the car they came:
Then they finally got to the house and I got to meet Rochelle. She brought us toys! Wasn’t that nice? I got a new ball to play fetch with. I played with it for days and days and days. There were also feather butt toys. Candy’s still going crazy with those. Feather butt toys are her favorite. Pearl must have told her mom what our favorite toys are. Either that, or she’s such a great cat lady that she just knows what kitties like!
Next day they drove all over the place. They went from our house to Boulder, Nederland, Central City, Idaho Springs, Echo Lake, over Squaw Pass, and finally to Morrison where they had dinner. They were hoping to see lots of fall colors, but they were about a week early for prime color. They did get to see some color though. Barnabus and Lippe Jr went, too, along with some of Pearl’s stuffies and Flat Pearl. Look at all the cool stuff they saw!
We had more visiting time with Rochelle that evening. Then the next morning she had to go home. I’m sad it was a short visit, but glad we got to see her at all! It’s so fun having visits from Twitter pals. Hope more pals can come to visit. We have lots of room!
