Product Review – ZiwiPeak Daily-Cat Cuisine Venison Canned Cat Food

Happy Monday everyone! I know, I usually blog on Sunday but Mom partied a little too hardy at her belated birthday party, so my blog had to wait. I guess I should be glad my blog is getting written at all!

20160106_201021I got two things free from Chewy.com to review this month. Today I’m going to tell you about the second thing – ZiwiPeak Daily-Cat Cuisine Venison Canned Cat Food. It’s grain free, has all kinds of good stuff like real meat and vitamins, it doesn’t have preservatives or added salt, and mom thought it looked pretty good. She also thought we might like to taste venison. It would be different than anything we’d ever eaten before.

It’s kind of thick and gritty and a little hard to get out of the can. The food sticks to the sides so it’s not easy to rinse out for recycling. Mom had to scrape what was left out to clean the can. She also watered it down a bit to make it smoother like we’re used to.

20160108_191328The first time we tasted it, we dug right in and cleaned our bowls. The second time, we ate about half of it. The third time we sorta tasted it. Each time mom put it out, we ate less.

Mom was bound and determined to get us to eat it, so then she added the Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers Rabbit Formula Freeze-Dried Cat Food Topper I reviewed last time. She buried a few pieces in the food, and we ate the venison to get to the rabbitty bits. Whether or not we eat the ZiwiPeak Daily-Cat Cuisine Venison Canned Cat Food is still kind of hit or miss. Some days this food gets a paws up from us and some days we turn up our noses at it.

That’s it for today! Have a great week everyone!

Product Review – Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers

20160106_200736 (2)See this box? It’s another box for us from Chewy.com with more free things to review. Of course, Candy and I had to check the box out right away! This time we got two different things to review, but I’m only writing one of them up today.

20160106_200916This week’s review is Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers. We got the rabbit flavor. These are freeze dried bits to mix into your regular food. Here’s what’s in it: Rabbit, pork liver, pork heart, pumpkinseeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, ground flaxseed, montmorillonite clay, dried kelp, broccoli, mixed tocopherols, apple cider vinegar, salmon oil, rosemary extract, blueberries, dried chicory root. Looks pretty good. I’m not sure about clay in my food, and I had to look up what tocopherols are (vitamin E compounds), but all in all it looks nice and healthy.

Mom gave us some to taste just by itself.20160106_201158 20160106_201220We dove right in and gobbled them all up. Those rabbity bits were very nommy. Even EK ate them, and he usually doesn’t like treats.

Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers are grain and gluten free, and have no artificial colors or preservatives. Mom was happy to see that. As you know, she’s pretty careful about what she feeds us. We love the way it tastes. Mom’s saving them for next time we won’t eat our wet food. She’s gonna mix it in the food to see if it will entice us. So far we’ve been eating our wet food ok, so the experiment hasn’t happened yet. But so far Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Mixers gets a paws up from us!

Of course, the best part of any Chewy shipment is the box! We get to play in it for a week or so before mom puts it out in the recycling. MOL20160106_211051I know I’ve been doing a lot of reviews, but mom hasn’t taken any of us on any adventures lately. Mom did find a list of restaurants that are pet friendly, so maybe some outings are in my future come spring.

That’s it for today. Have a great week everyone!

Product Review – CANIDAE Grain-Free PURE Taste Cat Treats

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a safe New Year’s Eve.

I’ve got a new product review for you. Chewy.com sent us some new treats to try – CANIDAE Grain-Free PURE Taste Cat Treats. We got the Trout flavored treats. The ingredients looked pretty good – Trout, salmon meal, menhaden fish meal, peas, potatoes, canola oil, sweet potatoes, natural flavor, mixed tocopherols (a source of Vitamin E). Mom thought that looked pretty healthy.20151205_173032As you can see, we couldn’t get at them fast enough. We gobbled them right up! That is, we did the first few times Mom gave them to us. Each time she fed them to us it took us longer and longer to get through the ones she put out for us. The last couple of times we didn’t eat them at all. Mom doesn’t get it – we loved them when we first tasted them. She doesn’t get why we won’t eat them now. Maybe we’d like a different flavor better. They also come in chicken, salmon, and game bird. We’re kind of partial to chicken, so maybe we should try that flavor instead.

That’s it for today. Have a great week everyone.

Disclaimer – we got the treats free from Chewy for review. As always, our opinion is strictly our own. You can’t make us kitties eat anything we don’t want to eat.
