Road Trip Days 1 & 2

Happy Thursday everyone! I usually post just on Sundays, but as most of you know, Mom and Lippe Jr took a road trip to visit @Mariodacat and his M & D. They were on the road for 8 whole days! There’s lots of pictures to share so I’m gonna spread this out over a few days. I’m also gonna let the pictures do most of the talking. So here are the first two days of the trip.

We had great weather for the drive (and most of the trip). Driving through Nebraska wasn’t as boring as I’d heard. The part of Iowa we drove through was all hilly and farms. It was beautiful. And the drive through Wisconsin was gorgeous too! I thought I’d be bored spending two days in the car, but I really enjoyed seeing all these places I’d never seen before. The only really boring part of the drive was Northeastern Colorado. I can’t believe I was in 4 different states in 2 days!

That’s it for today’s installment. Part two tomorrow.

Third Gotcha Day News and Giveaway

Happy Sunday everyone! First, I want to thank everyone for their paw prayers for Mom’s back. She’s feeling much better now, but still has to watch her computer time. There’s something about her chair or the table height that makes her sit funny and makes her back hurt. She’s working on a more ergonomic setup, but in the meantime, I’ll be using her tablet more for twitter. I type very slowly on the tablet, so you’ll have to bear with me.

Now to the good stuff! As you know, this past Wednesday was my third Gotcha Day. Since that was a workday and last Sunday the weather was so purrfect, we went to Eldorado Canyon State Park. There’s a wheelchair path there that Mom thought would be good for the stroller. It has a great view of the canyon. Aside from pawsome scenery, we saw lots of people rock-climbing. That looked kind of fun, so when we went to the picnic area for brunch I decided to do some rock-climbing, too.

We were down by the creek edge and there were tons of nice crunchy leaves to play with. I didn’t realize the I was so close to the water because of all the leaves. I was just playing with them and having so much fun I stepped right in the water and got my paws wet! I backed out really quick and was trying to shake the water off my paws. Mom just stood there laughing and laughing at me! *shakes head* So here are the pictures from my trip.

Now for the part you’ve all been waiting for – the Tillman Skateboard Deck Giveaway! I won this cool skateboard deck from the pawsome people at Natural Balance at the last Blogpaws. Just follow the Rafflecopter instructions. There are steps to get more than one entry. You don’t have to do all the steps, but you do have to do the steps you say you’re doing. No cheating! If you don’t know how to post links to Twitter or Facebook posts, tag me in the post (@pumpkinpuddy on Twitter, Pumpkinpuddy Katz on Facebook) so I know you posted. I’ll take entries until 11/7 and announce the winner on 11/11. I know I originally said I’d announce the winner on the 9th, but that’s a Friday so I’m gonna wait until my usual blogging day, Sunday. Also, that’s the day before EK & Candy’s Gotcha day and the purrfect day for another Gotcha Day blog.

That’s it for today everyone. Have a great week! *hugs*

Sunday Musings – almost my blogiversay

Happy Sunday everyone! Do you know what Thursday is? It’s my blogiversay! I’ll do a special blog for Thursday recapping the last year. I’m also working on a possible giveaway. I’ll know fur sure tomorrow if I’m gonna be able to do that, so stay tuned! Also, in honor of my blogiversary, I’ve got a chip-in going trying to raise money for Duncan’s Place. That’s where Candy & EK came from. I’m trying to raise $500. I have over 1,000 Twitter followers. If only half donate $1 each, I’ll meet my goal.

Edit: Got word today and it’s official. I will be having a giveaway from the wonderful people at Nutro for my blogiversary. Come back Thursday for details.

We woke up to snow on the ground again this morning. It’s supposed to be spring. We had no snow all winter and now we’re getting snow. 🙁 That’s the way it is here. We’ll go from winter into summer with practically no spring. But we get so much sun and so little really bad weather that I don’t think I’d want to live anywhere else.

As you know, Candy got the stroller ride last week. Mom took lots of pictures, but for some reason most of them came out fuzzy, but these came out really good.

Yellow Headed Blackbird
Robin
The Colorado Rockies. Don’t know which specific peak. Possibly Long’s Peak.

Mom was real excited to get the picture of the yellow headed blackbird. They usually fly off before she can get the picture.

So that’s it until Thursday. Make sure you come back then for my special blogiversary blog and (hopefully) give-away.
