Yummy Things from Mr. Chewy!

Howdy everyone. I have to hang my head in shame big time this week. Not only have I been neglecting my blog, but I owe someone not one but TWO reviews. We’ve been so busy, there hasn’t been time for mom to help me with my blog. Well she’s finally helping me get caught up. 20140517_115527I’ve gotten two different products from chewy.com to check out. The first is Halo Liv-a-Littles freeze dried cat & dog treats. They’re pure meat and nothing added. Just what we kitties crave. Chewy sent our favorite flavor – chicken! All three of us gobbled them right up. Mom didn’t get a pic of EK. Remember, click on the pictures to biggify them!

20140712_113201The next thing was sort of a surprise. We got to try Natural Balance Platefulls Grain-Free Duck, Chicken & Pumpkin Formula. What we got wasn’t a surprise cuz we get to pick what we’re gonna taste test from a list. The surprise was how many we got! I thought they’d send one or two packets. When the box showed up, it was a full case of 24 packets! I couldn’t believe it!

We like doing reviews for chewy.com. It’s nice to be able to taste test new stuff before mom spends money on it. And once in a while we get a huge surprise from them. Mom came home last night to find a box on the porch from chewy.com, and we weren’t expecting anything. You won’t believe how much stuff was in it!20140731_181538There were tons of treats, a great big soft fluffy towel, a beach ball, two can cozies, some wrist bands and some other stuff for mom. The best thing that was in there for mom isn’t in the picture because she already took it to work – a stainless steel travel coffee mug! Mom tried it out this morning and it really keeps the coffee hot. So she thinks she got the best thing in the box, but we know better. The kitty treats were the best things in the box! Can’t wait to start nomming on them. Thank you chewy.com for our pawsome present!

Product Review – Halo Healthsome Real Chicken Cat Treats

Happy Sunday everyone! Got a real ‘treat’ for you today. That’s right. I’m reviewing kitty treats! MOL

DSCN4558The nice folks over at chewy.com let us try out some Halo Healthsome Real Chicken Cat Treats. As you know, mom’s pretty picky about what we’re allowed to eat. No grain, soy, or fish for us. (We’re delicate kitties, even EK.) Because of this, we don’t get to test yummy stuff furry often, so we jumped on this one. Look what’s in these treats (from the website): Chicken, Potato Flour, Pea Flour, Tapioca Flour, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Natural Mixed Tocopherols), Pumpkin, Pea Fiber, Flaxseed, Tomatoes, Catnip, Taurine, Ascorbic Acid (a Preservative). Looks pretty healthy to me and there’s nothing in there we can’t have.

Here’s what else the website has to say:

DSCN4560Halo Healthsome Real Chicken Cat Treats

Chicken’s great. Chicken and catnip? Purr! Healthsome Real Chicken Cat Treats from Halo are crunchy cat treats with just a bit of catnip to make even even the finicky felines fall in love. They’re a great source of protein and fiber, and at only 1.5 calories per treat, they’re perfect for weight-conscious lapcats. These treats also have added flaxseed to keep the coat soft and shiny.

Key Benefits

  • Naturally preserved with mixed tocopherols

  • Crunchy texture helps clean teeth

  • No corn, wheat, fillers, or added sugar or molasses

  • Pumpkin assists digestive tract

DSCN4561All we know is they’re nommy! We gobbled them up, and we don’t like most treats. (Except Candy. She’s not as picky as the rest of us.) We’re eating them so fast the picture’s blurry! That’s some good eating. And at only 1.5 calories a piece, they’re good for kitties that have to watch the pounds (like Candy).

For those of you that like fish, they also come in Select Seafood Combo Flavor.

So that’s it for today. Have a great week everyone!

Disclaimer: The treats were provided gratis from chewy.com. We were not paid for this review. As always, our opinion is our own. You can’t make us kitties eat something we don’t like!

BlogPaws Day 3

Do you believe BlogPaws was two weeks ago and I’m still writing about it? MOL And there’ll be one more post after this one.

Saturday’s keynote speaker was Lena West, founder of Influence Expansion. She spoke about what influence is, how to expand your influence, and how that translates into helping your business make money. She also emphasized that we have to believe in ourselves and that we deserve to be successful. She spoke about being focused – “If you’re not good at one thing, how can you be good at several?” I thought that was an excellent point. I know I’m one for scattering myself all over the place! MOL

My first workshop on Saturday was Copyright with Emily Campbell from Dunlop Codding and Jason Merrihew from AAHA. Emily spoke about copyright issues involved when you use stuff you find on the web and when you have to disclose your relationship with a company when you write about them. Jason spoke about where to find credible sources and how to judge the sources you find.

After lunch was a workshop on Analytics with Robin Olson from Covered in Cat Hair and Sam Moore from Resonetrics. They spoke about how you can use analytics to find out what’s going on with your blog and how to use those analytics to focus on what you want or need to change to drive traffic. You can find out what’s working and what isn’t. They also talked about how to increase your effective presence on Facebook and gave some info on Pinterest.

My last workshop was with Lena West. She had given away a blog makeover at breakfast and her afternoon workshop was our getting to watch her makeover the blog. Of course, I wanted to win the makeover, but I wasn’t so lucky. I wasn’t too upset though because the winner was my good pal @cheshireK (Robin) over at Cheshire Loves Karma. Lena gave Robin some excellent advice about unifying her look (having blog and business cards look alike), moving to a self-hosted blog, and cleaning up her look. There were other bits of advice, too. If you saw the blog before but haven’t seen it since Robin implemented Lena’s advice, you’ll be amazed at the changes! The blog looks absolutely fantastic!

Saturday night was the Nose-to-Nose Social Media Pet Blogging Awards sponsored by Halo, Purely for Pets and Freekibble.com. We got our picture taken on the red cawpet. I wore my beautiful pink pearls that @MizzBassie made for me. If you haven’t see her pet necklaces, you have to check them out! You can see them at Silkenpaw.net. I just love mine!

There was a whole bunch of us having an online Twitter pawty from Blogpaws during the event. I got to Barktend! We had loads of fun. I hope most of you were there and also watched the awards being streamed. If you missed out and want to see who the winners were, they’re listed at the BlogPaws website.

As soon as the evening’s festivities ended, it was back to the room to pack. We were leaving extremely early in the morning because it was supposed to be very hot the next day. I’ll tell you about that and the drive home in the next installment. I’ll be indirectly blogging about BlogPaws for a long time. We got so many samples and so much information that I’ll be doing product reviews and blogs inspired by BlogPaws for some time to come.

I was sad to leave BlogPaws and to say good-bye to all the wonderful people and pets I met there. Getting to know my pals in pawson made them all that much more special to me. I’m glad I have my pictures to keep their faces fresh in my memory.
